The X-Seed Plus offers the possibility of storing four recovery seeds of 24 words. A recovery seed is also called a seed phrase backup or seed backup and also comes in variants of 12 and 18 words. These words are shown when you first configure your hardware or software wallet. 

It is very important that you save these words correctly and safely, because this is your only chance to restore access to your crypto if you lose your access code. This is also an insurance in case your hardware wallet is broken, lost or your laptop with software wallet breaks down. 

Keeping your recovery seed in metal is the safest method, because you keep it offline. Hackers cannot access your crypto and because it is metal it is also resistant to water and fire damage.

In this set you get three stainless steel plates made of RVS304. This only melts at 1454°C. You also get metal letter stamps from A to Z. With a hammer (not included) and a hard surface, you can stamp your recovery seed into the stainless steel plates. 

You also get an aluminium plate. This melts at around 600°C. With the engraving pen supplied, you can scratch your recovery seed into the aluminium. You can use this for a recovery seed from a wallet that is less important or to practice with. The engraving pen can also be used for the stainless steel plates. However, this is less advisable because it takes a lot of effort.

A nice addition to this set are the safety stickers. After you have recorded your recovery seeds, you can use the stickers to stick two plates together. The sticker changes colour when it is pulled off, so you can see if someone might have looked at your recovery seed.
