Security Trezor Safe 3

The Safe 3 contains an EAL6+ Certified Chip as a Secure Element. In particular, a Secure Element provides protection if an unwanted person gains physical access to your Safe 3. This is an important difference from the Trezor One and Trezor T. These two predecessors both do not have a Secure Element.

When setting up your Safe 3, you get a recovery seed (recovery phrase). The default setting with this wallet is that the recovery seed is 12 words long. This is different from the Trezor One or many other hardware wallets. Optionally, you can also create a Shamir Backup.

On the Safe 3, you also set a PIN code. This PIN must be entered every time it is used. In addition, it is possible to add a passphrase. This is an extra word that is part of your recovery seed.

The firmware of the Trezor Safe 3 is open-source.

Which coins can be managed on the Trezor Safe 3

You can manage most well-known coins with a Trezor Safe 3. Think Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Cardano and Avalanche. Furthermore, it supports all ERC20 tokens.
